Today you will be working individually and sharing out in partnerships and groups to learn more about the Age of European Colonization and Age of Western (European) Imperialism around the world. After we look globally as a class at these time periods, you will focus on your endangered culture and research and document in your summative research portfolio about what was happening to your endangered culture during this time period in history (1400s - 1900s CE) and whether or not they were dramatically impacted by outside influences and contact with others during any of this time. Helpful Link for today's class: Imperialism - Colonialism (Google Slides presentation) HW/Prep: research + document (in research portfolio) what was happening to your endangered culture during 1400 - 1900 ceBe sure you have begun to look chronologically at the major time periods we have examined in this unit and begun developing an outline/timeline of what was going on during these time periods (if any information is known about them during these time periods) and document whether or not they were impacted by outside groups due to trade, colonization, conquests, cultural diffusion, etc.
Next class you will have a formative writing task in which you will need to write about what was happening to your endangered culture and what life was like for them during the 1400s - 1900s. Come prepared to write. Comments are closed.
