T3 Week 2 Thursday - finish building civilization model + complete summative g-SPICE cornell Notes3/18/2016
Helpful links for today's class: Today you will continue research on your selected civilization. You will work on adding notes to your own copy of the G-SPICE Cornell Notes. You will also continue working, communicating and collaborating with your group to add information, photos, videos, etc. that can be useful for your group. Please continue to add content, helpful resource links, etc. to your group's Padlet.
Most students have made a copy of the G-SPICE Cornell Notes and submitted the link. Block E needs to still do this (and a few other students as well). Yes, you submit the link while you are still working on the document. Don't wait until you finish--this way I can give you formative feedback while you are working on this. G-SPICE Cornell Notes will be due Thursday, March 17th. They will be summative. We will go over the details and criterion for this on Thursday. On Thursday, you will practice (yes, its formative) evaluating one of your sources (you will get to choose the source). Helpful links for today's class: Today you will be forming a new group (approx. 3 students) and your group will be selecting a region of the world and civilization from that region of the world to research. Your historical time period is the Middle Ages.
You will work together with your group to collect data and build a model representing the unique features, and highlight your selected civilization's culture traits, and innovative contributions to the world. You will eventually be tasked with individual projects that will become part of your model and you will be summatively assessed on the individual aspects you contribute to the group model. The model will be interactive so that students participating in a Gallery Walk can learn about your civilization both through the model and through the use of online media and information using QR codes. You will all learn from each other! To get started, here are some resources you will need access to today: |
