A Blocks: Formative Religion MCQ first...

We will go over the Formative Religions MCQ in class before we begin the review

Prep for Summative...

INDIVIDUAL TASK: ONE-PAGER CONCEPT MAPPING/GRAPHIC ORGANIZER
Begin making your graphic organizer -- this is a requirement for review of each unit of study.  You can organize this any way you want but you need to connect the major concepts of Unit 3 to terminology, examples, etc.

  • Pop/Folk Culture: hearths, diffusion, distribution, impact on cultural landscape and environment
  • Globalization: impact this has on culture
  • Identity:Ethnicity, Race, Gender, Sex, Sexuality)
  • Languages: Hearths, theories of diffusion, linguistic diversity, loss of language)
  • Religion: Universalizing vs. Ethnic, Hearths, Types, Methods of Diffusion, Conflict

See slideshow below for examples of concept maps (these are not APHG concept maps--you have to create your own)

GROUP TASK: MAPPING RELIGIOUS CONFLICT (10-15 min.)
Within your group, map out and annotate in the margins some of the key information about who is involved, what the source of conflict is, how long the conflict has been going on and the level/nature of the conflict. Consider who also has the power within this conflict.
  • Religious Conflicts- Google Slides
  • Rubenstein CH 6, KQ 4: Why do Territorial Conflicts Arise Among Religious Groups?

HW: Study for Unit 3 summative
-- be sure to review the hints

  • Summative MCQ - Hints
  • Summative FRQ (Religion) - Hints
  • Unit 3 webpage -there are MANY resources, practice tests, tutorial videos, etc.

Also, don't forget to bring your binders -- I will be doing binder checks to ensure you are keeping up with the study material and other materials you should be saving in preparation for summatives, the semester exam, the mock and the actual AP exam. Here is the Binder Check rubric for Unit 3:

  • Folk & Pop Culture Study Guide (Fouberg CH. 4)
