HW: Finish Language Study Guide… start taking Neighborhood Geographer photos
Before next class, be sure to finish reading "Languages" in Fouberg (& some in Rubenstein-- or watch the Rubenstein lecture videos provided on the Unit 3 webpage).
Finish the Languages Study Guide handout.
Next class will be a lecture on Languages. We will cover this in only 1 block before moving on to the Religions chapter. Be sure to read ahead on languages so that you have a basic understanding of some of the concepts. You'll get more out of the lecture and class content if you come in familiar with the terms and case studies the chapter reading provides.
Also, think about which neighborhood in Singapore you want to focus on for your Neighborhood Geographer project. You can choose any neighborhood but all of your photos need to come from the same neighborhood. You will need to have these photos ready to use next week in class (Nov. 13 for A blocks and Nov. 16 for B blocks)
