Advisory - Week of August 15-19

8/14/2016

Tuesday, August 16:
Service Club Assembly @8am in gym 2

Advisory students:
Instead of reporting to our usual Advisory room, you will go directly to Gym 2 for the start of Advisory at 8am.  You will hear and learn about the numerous service clubs that you can join at SAS.

Later this week (Thursday and Friday) there will be Service Club Fair during lunch time where you can check out the booths for all of the service clubs, ask questions and sign up for any that you are interested in joining.

Thursday, August 18:
Advisory Meeting about engaging in service and making a difference as a freshman

Stimulating Service-Based Change as Underclassmen
Today's Essential Question (EQ):
What do I want to change in the world, and how I can affect change?

Today's Greeting:
  • Two truths and a lie.
Go around the circle and each student will tell two truths and a lie. Your classmates must guess which "fact" was a lie.
Today's Discussion Questions:

  • What are you passionate about changing in this world?
  • How can you use the four aspects of service (direct, advocacy, indirect, and research) to help stimulate change?
  • How can you use your position as an underclassman to lead in the SAS Service Community?
  • How can you make the most out of service this year?
Toe Ring (Reflection):
  • If you could change one thing about the world, what would it be?
