Each member of your group should present SOMETHING... it is a group presentation, but you'll get an individual score for what you present on your slide (and what you say in your 30+ seconds in the spotlight). Be prepared. Each group will give a 2-3 minute presentation. Afterwards, you will begin to sign up for your slot for the Summative Interim Project Presentations (be sure to check your calendar and make sure you are in class that day--note: IASAS day...) Towards the end of class, I will return your MCQs and we will go over the answers. HW: READ!!!!!! And watch videos. Take notes on pros/cons of agriculture types in "future of farming" docAfter today's FRQ, we will continue looking at the future of farming and focus on what the future source of our food will be. We will focus on protein sources today. More specifically, We will take a look at commercial fishing and aquaculture, nomadic pastoralism, cattle ranching and feedlots --and what options we have for protein sources. Please turn in your off-campus fieldtrip permission slip forms. We will be going off campus next class block after you finish the formative MCQ. HW: Prep/study for the Formative MCQ.
Today: we will focus on the various farming practices and trends in agriculture we see in many MEDCs around the world--which are often in direct opposition to one another in their viewpoint on what direction farming, fishing and food production should be headed in for feeding the world in the future. Today: We will also take a look at the various practices, including how Singapore gets its food, and begin looking with a critical lens at our options for food.

We will then begin preparation for a debate on the future of farming (not a formal debate but more of a critical Socratic Discussion). Today we will review for the Semester 1 exam. Be sure you have completed the slides you were responsible for within your group. Your group is counting on you! We will also take a look at the FRQ Semester 1 Exam HINTS. One of these slides will be your class' FRQ topic. There are 5 topics. Block B4 you have an advantage over all other exam blocks (process of elimination). That said, you still need to be prepared. You won't know which topic is yours until Tuesday afternoon. Even still. After today's summative MCQ for Political Organization of Space, we will begin to review for the Semester 1 Exam.
Use the Exam MCQ HINTS presentation posted in Schoology for your block. Each block has a different set of MCQ HINTS to review & prepare for the Semester Exam. Exam: 75 questions (60 min. to answer) + 1 FRQ (25 min. to read/outline/write) Today we will continue looking at types of boundaries by looking at the shape, size and form of state. We will look at some of the advantages and disadvantages to each and some of the characteristics common among these. Students will work within a small table group to identify various political states from 1 continent according to its size, shape and type of political format (unitary, federal, etc.) Today's Helpful Links:
